Okay, technically it was just Daniel switching teams, but, it didn't feel that way.

It felt like heartbreak.

Didn't Daniel have as much fun as he had while they were teammates?

He's already pretty wasted when he sees him, at the bar, asking the bartender for a drink.

He makes his way over there to say hello.

"Lewis!" He slurs out the name a little. "Didn't expect to see you here."

"Max?" Lewis looks just as surprised as Max felt when he saw him. "I didn't know this was your type of bar."

It wasn't. Not until Daniel brought him here a few times. Then it somehow became his favorite one.

"What can I say... I'm full of surprises."

Lewis' lips curl up into a small grin and he slaps Max's shoulder amicably.

"You sure are." he thanks the bartender when he gets his drink, then turns back to Max. "You on your own?"

Max nods, "Yeah. What about you?"

"Same," Lewis took a sip from his drink, looking around. "It's pretty crowded tonight."

"That's fun, no?" Lewis can tell Max has already had a few drinks too many and honestly, he's getting there too. "Would be boring if it wasn't."

"Yeah," he thinks 'fuck it' and empties his glass in one go. "You wanna dance?"

It's a silly question, because he knows Max isn't exactly world's greatest dancer - neither is he - but he just needs to do something to get the pressure off. He's pretty sure Max feels the same way.

The grin on Max's face says enough. Lewis has just enough time to place his glass back onto the bar before he gets dragged off to the dancefloor.

They dance, laugh and drink some more. They get kicked out, along with some other customers, when the bar is going to close and they stumble outside.

"You wanna share a cab?"

Lewis thinks Max must be more drunk than he thought he was for asking this.

"Yeah, sure."

He knows he's far gone when he gives his answer.

The ride in the backseat of the cab is... Interesting.

Max gets a little bit touchy and Lewis doesn't really seem to mind.

Max gets really clingy when they're in the hotel lobby and Lewis has no choice but to pull Max into the elevator and help him up to his room.

He wants to leave and go to his own room straight away, but Max - who has even more strength than Lewis gave him credit for - grabs him and then he's crowding him in and kissing him and Lewis has nowhere to go.

He could push him away, but fuck--- he craves this. Whatever this is.

They end up as two naked bodies in tangled sheets, whispering words which are meant for someone else.

Max wishes the voice had an Australian accent. Lewis wishes the voice sounded more British.

But it is what it is. They did what they did.

Quirk info: you have fire breath, you're always too warm because there's literally fire inside of our body. It also means when people are close to you they're really warm to, you're pretty much a radiator.

"Bro... (y/n) is eating a popsicle" Kaminari muttered to Kirishima who was unable to peel his eyes away from you no matter hoe hard he tried. "I know bro" is it wrong to be looking at her like this, I can't look away she was just perfect and- *crunch*

The boys watched in horror as you bit off the top of the popsicle and there was a very audible screech from the middle of the courtyard you and your classmates were in. you thought someone was hurt so you instinctively whipped your head around to see where the noise came from but instead, you saw sero and kaminari dragging Kirishima away to the door with bakugo holding the door open and signalling like a marshaller to hurry up and get him out of the courtyard. You shrugged and continued to much on your popsicle and made a mental note to ask Kirishima about it later.

Kaminari sat him on the couch and sat down next to him and handed him a water bottle. Bakugo knew something needed to be done, he wouldn't sit there and let his friend suffer, he stormed up to the boys and stood in front of them "OI, you need to fucking get it together shitty hair. You might as well just ask her to suck your dick dude" Kirishima choked on his water, most of it landing on his vest "BRO! You had been through at least 4 popsicles so far, todoroki had already tried to help as much as he could but to no avail and as the sun climbed higher into the sky the temperature went up also.

"Fuck this" you shouted and ran back into the dorm not realising that your white bodysuit was pretty much see-through by now. You sprinted past the boys on the couch to the kitchen and there it was your lord and saviour... the freezer. You wandered round to the commons and asked, "hey who wants to help me get in the freezer?" they looked at you with confusion and 3/4 boys looked in the other direction while Kirishima turned the colour of his hair "d-do you want t-to change your t-shirt first?" he asked and you looked down realizing everyone could see what was underneath your top "oh no I'm wearing a bra how unfortunate, Kiri help me get in the freezer!" you said pulling him up from the couch and dragging him to the kitchen "(y/n), no I mean if your shirt's wet and you're in the freezer you'll get hypothermia" he pointed out, even though that certainly wasn't what he meant but he didn't want to be rude.

You stopped realizing he had a good point "then I'll just take it off?" you said and walked towards the closest bathroom "NO (Y/N) THAT'S NOT MUCH BETTER" he shouted after you making you stop again, he looked around for a better idea and suddenly a small lightbulb appeared above his head (in his mind) "here take my vest" he said pulling it over his head and handing it to you, he had no issue showing his abs off. Your face lit up red at the sight of his gorgeous body and you took the vest and sped toward the bathroom.

You came back with his vest on which covered your shorts since you were a fair bit shorter than him and... another popsicle? "Where did you even get that!" The brilliant thing about the freezers in your dorm was how big and empty they were, you were teenagers, after all, you weren't going to put very much effort into making food so that freezer was never more than a quarter full. As much as I love the "hihi. Wwx is wearing his boyfriend's underrobe" aspect of this, I also like the visual incorporation of lwj's colour scheme into wwx's clothes. (Not just through the undertone, his black tone also has slight grey seam.) It's as if now that they are finally fully committed to each other, wwx is displaying it for all the world to see

It made me realise why I was so drawn to lan Wangji as a character. Of course he is mu favourite character! He ticks every single box

Let me explain. My favourite characters almost always share the following characteristics: seems either cold and distant or ethereal and aloof, as if they are above such puny human things like feelings™️(bonus if they're actually not human and their argument is "I'm [insert species]. We can't feel [insert emotion they are definetly feeling very strongly]"). then, over the course of the story, we (along with they themselves because they were in denial) discover that it's not that they feel too little, they feel entirely too much. They're a sea of emotions so deep that the surface is calm, but don't you dare be near them when the storm is coming because all hell will break loose. (extra bonus point if that storm involves them rebelling against the oppressive society they were born into and adhered to until then because they realise their consciousness won't allow it any longer.) afterwards they realise that making themselves vulnerable once in a while is actually a good thing and they proceed to fuck the Rebel™️ who they've secretly been in love with the entire time, a feeling they only now allow themselves to act on

The last part sadly isn't always canon, but who has ever had time for that?

You know what this episode made me realise most of all? The Lan sect are just as human as the rest of them. In fact, they seem to be especially prone to acting rashly on strong emotions. (I don't remember the exact story, but didn't the founder of the Lan sect also have some kind of tragic love story?) It should be obvious, but the impression you get is that they are so detached from their wants, so rigorous and disciplined in their righteousness, that they are almost super-human. But no. Thise 3000 and some rules? They weren't born out of some enlightened mind that had the secret of live figures out, they're a crutch. Abiding by them without question rids one of responsibility to make even the tiniest moral choice for oneself. But that won't work because a) they're bounty to contradict each other at some point and b) that's not how human beings work. They're messy and unpredictable and beautifully complicated. The way Lan Qiren choses to apply them, he completely disregards that. At that point, the rules aren't there anymore to grant a harmonious society, but simply for their own sake. (Or maybe as a wall to hide behind)
